Location: Arts Centre, Melbourne
Period: 2012
Client: Arts Centre Melbourne
Set Square Productions collaborated with Hatching Studio to design, develop and install the ‘Bouquet’ public art sculpture for the iconic Arts Centre Melbourne following the Hamer Hall refurbishment.
‘Bouquet’ was a 13m high gladioli sculpture paying homage to the tradition of an opening night bouquet and the lasting link between the Arts Centre and Dame Edna Everage.
Set Square Productions was tasked with taking a concept by the revered designer, Brian Thompson, and turning it into reality.
This project relied on both lateral thinking to develop a suitable solution and project management expertise to deliver it, in a high traffic public space.
Set Square Productions’ role included:
Sir Barry Humphries unveiled the Bouquet, which was warmly embraced by Melbournians. Illuminated by an incredible light show, the work was a stunning spectacle at night.
'Celebrating the lasting link between Dame Edna Everage and the Arts Centre Melbourne.'
"A great still life on which to feast our eyes, A vase of gladis, slightly oversized"
